How long have you been singing or playing an instrument? I started piano lessons at age 5. Played with my church organist at Home Church in Cooperstown, PA at age 8. Performed “He Lives” as first singing solo at age 8 Who or what influenced you to start singing/playing gospel music? Actually, Gospel music didn’t come into my life until I met J.P. We eventually became two members of his Dad’s Gospel Quartet. What other gospel singers/quartets have influenced you? I love Kate Smith and her passion in the delivery of a ballad. Norma Simmer performed beautiful hymns on the Lawrence Welk Show. The original Gaither Trio was an inspiring team. I also enjoyed listening to the old 45 records of Patty Paige singing beautiful hymns on my Aunt Mildred’s record player. What’s your favorite gospel quartet or singer? Without a doubt, The Cathedrals, Ivan Parker and Janet Pascal Lauren Talley, Mark Lowry. What’s your favorite gospel song (current and historical)? “Because He Lives”, “Loving God, Loving Each Other” and “Faith Unlocks The Door”, He'll Pilot Me". Your favorite scripture? The entire book of Matthew, John 3:17 and Psalm 100. How is God calling you through the Gospel Edition ministry? I hope through our music ministry to guide the feet of the listener to a better relationship with God.
